Man Utd's Van Nistelrooy furious at Keane block

tribalfootball.com - May 10, 2006

Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy hit out at manager Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to stop him from being involved in last night's testimonial for Roy Keane.

Back in Holland, Van Nistelrooy said: "The fact I cannot be there for the game is the most painful thing of all. I have spoken to Roy, I wanted to respect Roy but I wasn't allowed to."

Dutch boss Marco van Basten said: "It can only be good for us that a great striker of the calibre of Ruud feels hurt and angry prior to appearing in the World Cup finals."
